This is a project that I completed in the Fall of 2013 for NMD 102 at the University of Maine. The lights on the tree are programmed to go to the song that is playing in the background. I used an Arduino Uno, solid-state relay board, and eight-outlet box for hardware. The entire project was programmed in Processing using delays in the music calculated in GarageBand. The program first calls the audio file and then begins controlling the relay board. I created the tree from cardboard and hook-and-loop tape. Each strand of lights is hooked into its own outlet and each outlet is hooked into a port on the relay board which is controlled via the Arduino Uno and my computer.
